Mike Lennard
New Zealand Litigation Lawyer
I practise from Stout Street Chambers in central Wellington. My client base is spread nationally, and I am also regularly briefed by law firms and government agencies in Fiji and the Solomon Islands. I have a door tenancy at O’Connell Chambers in central Auckland.
This site describes my practice areas and experience, contains articles I have written on tax disputes and related issues, answers questions I am often asked, and gives you my contact details.
My practice has always centred on complex litigation. I began as a Crown prosecutor, then spent eight years as Inland Revenue’s first Director, Litigation before moving to the independent bar in 2004. While I have a high profile as a tax disputes lawyer, my current work covers a wide range of financial and commercial litigation: serious fraud and money laundering prosecutions, Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act proceedings, relationship property, constructive trust litigation, judicial review, professional negligence, and expert evidence in New Zealand and overseas courts.
